Nestled on the edge of the North York Moors, The Black Swan is a Michelin-starred, 4 AA Rosette restaurant with rooms by chef Tommy Banks. Stylishly grounded in tradition and culture yet cut through with modern, gastronomic creativity, our dining experience is an intimate reflection of our character; from a constantly refreshed palate of produce which we grow, rear, and forage ourselves.

We offer over 170 wines by-the-glass at the Black Swan, this includes an incredibly diverse entry level BTG offering all the way up to some of the finest wines in the world such as 2004 Vega Sicilia, 2017 Chave Hermitage Blanc & so many more. The goal with our by the glass offering is to offer our guests incredible options at all price points and offer wines by the glass unavailable anywhere else.

Radio Lazarus 2017

All vintages of this wine are currently extinct in the UK and no more of this particular wine will ever be made as the vineyard became unviable commercially. The incredible back story behind the wine is matched only by the quality of the minuscule amounts of wine that were ever produced there.

Quinta do Vale Meao Tinto 2014

An incredible wine that demonstrates how incredible still Douro wines can be, this wine is a favourite as it is rare that guests dining with us have tried it before but always impresses with its combination of intensity, complexity and balance. The 2014 vintage is currently extinct on the UK market which only adds to how special this is to have available by-the-glass.

Seamus Hooley

Seamus Hooley is the Group Beverage Manager for the Tommy Banks group, having worked for Tommy for over 7 years and previously having worked at the 2* Michelin Restaurant Andrew Fairlie. Seamus works closely alongside Tommy's brother James Banks and collaboratively curate the wine offering at the Black Swan. He is currently completing his WSET Diploma and is a certified sommelier.
