Toby and the team welcome you to North London's go to gastropub. Nestled in the heart of Hampstead, The Holly Bush invites you to embark on a culinary journey like no other. Our menu is a symphony of flavours, from classic British pub fare to innovative, globally-inspired dishes. We are delighted to be awarded The AA Rosette award for culinary excellence.

These premises have a long and illustrious history within Hampstead. It was one of several local properties purchased by painter George Romney in 1776. After Romney’s death in 1802, all of these properties were acquired by the trustees of the Hampstead Assembly Room. The trustees leased Romneys former stables to be converted into a tavern and this was the birth of the present-day Holly Bush.

Energetic, ripe and creamy, this West Coast Chardonnay balances richness with finesse. Bursting with honeyed stone fruit and a touch of spice, it avoids heavy oak and delivers lovely intensity. A natural match for our favourite pub classics such as Sunday roasts and fish pie.

Nastl Gruner Veltliner, Niederoesterreich, Austria

A standout expression of Austria’s signature grape from a family-run, sustainably minded winery. Bright and citrussy with mineral notes, ripe quince, apple and a long, elegant finish. Exceptionally food-friendly, it shines with everything from sea bass to roast chicken, and is one of the few wines that complements tricky seasonal favourites like artichoke and asparagus. Grüner is an exciting, modern alternative for guests who might usually choose Sauvignon Blanc or Albariño.

Chateau Musar Jeune Rouge, Bekaa Valley, Lebanon

A high-altitude, unoaked red that’s vibrant, youthful and brimming with character — giving the best of Roussillon a real challenge. We admire the Musar family’s unwavering commitment to organic viticulture and their remarkable consistency in crafting quality wines since 1930, despite the many challenges of winemaking in Lebanon. This is a versatile food wine, pairing beautifully with seasonal British favourites such as venison, lamb shank, duck confit and dishes with a touch of spice.
