A classic bistro in historic New Regent Street, CBD Christchurch. Ran by Paul & Emma, the focus is hearty, well sourced food paired with delicious wines and warm service.

Our policy is only listing wines we love made or sold by people we love. We have a bias towards our local region - North Canterbury/Waipara though delicious comes from everywhere. Around 35 wines by the glass on our standard list with rotating aged wines on the coravin and an ever changing blackboard. And access to another 40 wines by the glass from our wine bar downstairs.

Every vintage of this wine being released is both exciting to see the new expression yet sad to say goodbye to the previous vintage. It is a wine for all occasions that I jokingly describe as my best friend over the years. It is been part of many celebrations (& commiserations) over the vintages and is a wonderful expression of the North Canterbury terroir and how great our local region is for Chardonnay.

Emma's love for wine started at her second job at Annies Wine Bar almost 30 years ago. She is a firm believer in wine being unpretentious and the importance of the wine you are drinking being what you feel like drinking and being delicious in your mouth! The people and stories behind the wines add to the delicious-ness factor in her biased mind too.
