We pour ~40 wines by the glass. Our list is divided roughly into thirds, highlighting our favourites from Martinborough/Wairarapa vineyards, the other wine regions of New Zealand and a wide international offering. We're always happy to feature varietals, styles, and regions that are seen less often in Aotearoa.

St. Vincent, Groves 2024

A blend of Pinot Noir, Lagrein and St. Laurent from one of Martinborough's smaller producers. Winemaker Simon Groves salvaged fruit from a difficult frost year and turned it into one of his most complex and delicious offerings.

Areni Classic, Zulal 2020

This wine is always a conversation starter, in part because of its Armenian origin (not a region often seen on NZ wine lists) and proximity to what is perhaps the oldest wine making site in the world, but also becuase it features delicate savoury and floral characteristics of a Pinot Noir and the vibrant colour and fruit notes of Shiraz. Pairs beautifully with many foods, so it's great for a restaurant setting.

Malcolm's Creek Riseling, Otiake 2013

Down to a just a few bottles left of this now, and it will be a sad day when those are gone. This has aged beautifully and is drinking so well right now. All the best part of a Riesling - vibrant acidity, lots of petrol on the nose and abundant lime and white stone fruits. Pairs perfectly with our Cajun Pork Belly.

MEET THE WINE EXPERTS

Michael McLane

Co-owner Michael McLane is behind our extenseive drinks offering. McLane is from Utah but it was his time with Glengarry Wines and a subsequent move to the Wairarapa that shifted his focus to the world of wine. He and his wife, September, opened Tonic in 2021 where they offer the regions widest range of beers, spirits and wine by the glass with a focus on Martinborough and international wines.
