Your local speakeasy for independent beer and local wine. Eighteen beers on tap. 25 Local wines under Coravin. The line-up’s always changing, so there’s always something new on the taps or in the fridge. Beer, wine and food are all available to take away. Pull up a seat. We’ll pour the rest.

We pour around 25–30 wines by the glass, exclusively from Hawke’s Bay wineries, showcasing a wide range of varieties and sub-regions. We champion local, independently owned producers, with a constantly evolving selection. Alongside our core list, we also run a separate rotating vintage program, giving guests the chance to try older and less commonly poured wines by the glass.

Sundried Malbec, Brookfields 2024

Peter and Sharon are true legends of the Hawke’s Bay wine industry. Hand-picked and sun-dried, this Malbec is something a little special. We’re also big fans of Peter’s Robertson Pinot Gris — but the Malbec gets the nod here.

Beatrix, Alpha Domus, 2024

Jeremy

Jeremy arrived in Hawke’s Bay 40 years ago, aged 24, to reopen The Criterion Hotel in downtown Napier — just a stone’s throw from Rogue Hop — with a wine bar that was perhaps ahead of its time. Multiple bars and restaurants later, Hawke’s Bay produce still leads every project. Coravin now gives us the chance to pour a wider range of local wines and older vintages by the glass for our customers.
