Bridges

Rating 1

EXCELLENT: Over 20 wines by-the-glass

Experience: Sophisticated & Stylish

Specialist in: Bio-dynamic | Cool climate | Jura | Low intervention...

Bridges is a Michelin-starred restaurant in Manhattan’s Chinatown, whose dynamic menu draws from chef Sam Lawrence’s culinary training at renowned institutions abroad in Europe and Asia, as well as his experience cooking and leading kitchens in New York City.

We pour more than 17 wines by the glass, and the list changes constantly. The selections range from classically precise to esoteric, and challenge the common perception of what natural wine is while offering something for all. Our by the glass program gives us a chance to explore a broad geographical reach in terms of beverage, and create surprising pairings beyond the expected.

GLASS HIGHLIGHTS

Subject to availability*

Lardot, ‘Kontakt’ riesling, auxerrois, johanniter - Mosel, DE 2024

The Lardot family is doing really important work in the Mosel valley of Germany, which is going through a true identity crisis in terms of its viniculture. It's a tough place to work, and not many folks are able to commit to the life of a Mosel winemaker. Philippe and Rosa Lardot are remarkable representatives of this region because of their deep love for its traditions, but their willingness to show the great potential of the Mosel's new guard of winemakers.

Roberto Henríquez, ‘Cerro la Trinchera’ país | Bío Bio, CH 2024

Roberto Henríquez is one of my true favorites. This is a dark, volcanic, but not hefty país, a grape that is often panned for its rusticity. Chile is home to some ridiculously old vines, particularly in the cooler climate of Bío Bio. Roberto tends to some vines that are upwards of 100 years old, which is an incredible feat, as those vines require precise care.

Sông Cái, ‘Khà’ yellow rice wine | Hanoi, VN NV

Not all wine comes from grapes! Seems obvious, but I have to remind myself of this. This is an incredible pour from Sông Cái Distillery in Hanoi: a rice wine made in the style of a solera-aged sherry, or an oxidative white from the Jura. And, it's more than just its reference point to European winemaking, entirely its own entity and fantastic with our comte tart.

Keara Driscoll

I began working seriously in wine in 2013, when I was a server at Hearth in the East Village. I knew next to nothing and the list was huge, but it was a great way to fully immerse myself in wine study. From there I worked at Roberta's, Bar Boulud, Daniel, Estela -- all extremely varied programs, rigorous in their own way.
